Re: Yarmolenko
He's got good awareness and sees a pass ( set up one recently against Leeds or was it the Rapid game?) while his ability to score goals with his left foot has gone, while playing for us, and he seems to sky them these days. If a few if those had gone in he would, of course, get more minutes. Its a lack of mobility, work rate that was costing him although I can see he is trying to improve but at 31 and not getting much game time ( and hence match fitness) the odds are stacked against him being much more than a super sub. It does not help that he is on a large wedge so his time will be up this season unless he starts scoring regularly but there are no signs of that.

On another subject, Ryan Fredericks, what a shame he got that freak injury ( fell down their "trench" at the end of the pitch behind the goal and done his thigh or something?) at Manchester Utd in the cup game. His contribution in the games he played this season were the best to date since he has been at the club. He seemed to finally understand that with limited passing / technical ability that he needs to play it simple and has been a lot tidier and less guilty of losing possession. But on the positive side , his pace is such an asset and he had been contributing well with that. Not only attacking but covering at the back as he must still be one of the fastest defenders in the division. But, as it has been since he joined, even when he does start looking half useful he gets injured. But with Coufal out, he might get a chance this Sunday. Lets hope he continues where he left off when leaving the field at OT after just setting up the winning goal for Lanzini.

Re: Yarmolenko
Played right side of attack for Ukraine in Euros.

Thing is everyone goes on about our counter attacking game which I agree Yarmolenko doesn't fit. But like when we concede first and the other team park the bus players like him are useful to break down defenses.

Some just can't settle in the English League. Look at the likes of Shevchenko, Brolin, Veron, Falcao and of course our own Marco Boogers!

Re: Yarmolenko
Let’s hope someone wants to pay money for him in January based on his international form.

There is a player in there. However I can’t see him having any sort of future with us.

It’s a shame I remember them goals at Everton away, looked a real player, then that bad injury and he never got going again.

Would love to get some money for him and off the wage bill.

I thought he looked alright in the last Europa game. Struggles in the PL.

Do Ukraine play Yarmo in the middle or out wide left? Just wondering.

Re: Yarmolenko
Yarmolenko has worked hard when on this season, if that translates into goals and assists that will get him closer to the “first” team.
